Q: I am trying to locate some cheap land in Illinois that is suitable for off the grid living modular house, pre fab house, or container house usage. What I am looking for I believe is somewhat rare but from sources I?ve consulted they say it is sparsely available throughout the state. I?m looking for these specs: isolated wilderness or rural property with no neighbors for a 5 mile radius; approved for usage with modular homes, pre fab, container spaces and the like; something economical around $5000 give or take. I would like to purchase but would consider rental such as a farm property or even cabin property if it was very isolated. I?m trying to filter down my research to ascertain whether a Realtor, service, or researcher can pinpoint specific land like this for me in Illinois. I dont know if there are any services that specialize in this type of OFF GRID, survivalist, wilderness property or not. As well as any that have niche experience in implementing modular and low cost housing options in addition to knowledge of this type of land. If you could point me in the right direction of any services that can provide something congruent to these topics or have any other tips that would be wonderful. Thanks!
